Bridget Roche married Thomas Broderick in New Amsterdam, Indiana, USA in March 1854. Her first child, Nancy, was born there in November 1854. Their second child, Ellen, was born in Platte County, Missouri 8 Jan 1858. Their only son, John Patrick, was born in Clinton County, Missouri on their farm which has been farmed by the Broderick family now for 5 generations. Their last child, Mary Frances (Minnie) was born in 1861. Family lore says Thomas and his brothers worked the river boats across the country on their way to Missouri to earn money to buy their land.
