Catherine Lally was born in Galway March 3, 1850. She was the daughter of John Lally & Mary Ann Joyce, both born Ireland.

She immigrated to the U.S. in 1869. She arrived in Boston, MA July 26, 1869 on the ship "S.S. Siberia", of Glasgow, from Liverpool.

She married Joseph John Ross of Dedham, MA on April 25, 1872. They had 7 children.

Catherine died September 16, 1891 at age 41 in Dedham.
