Migrated to/Born in USA

John Ryan was my great gg grandfather and was married to my gg grandmother Sarah Torpey/Tarpy 1799-1869 in Feb 1824 in Cappataggle Co Galway.

The little I know about John I learned through my gg grandmother Sarah. I found Sarah in the 1860 census in Philadelphia, Pa with 2 of their children James J Ryan 1837-1907 (my g grandfather) and his brother Michael J Ryan 1843-1901. John was not in the census record, The family rumour has always been that John died in Ireland and did not  come to America. I  learned that through a posting on this site I learned that there were three other children, all baptized in Loughrea, Honora Ryan 1827-1908, Maria Ryan 1830- 1885 and Thomas Ryan 1840. I located Honora through a lot of research and learned thay she married a Patrick Hussey in 1846 in Ireland and they came to Phila, along with their first child Michael in 1850 and she died here in 1908. I also located Maria/Mary through a DNA match and she came to America, married a James Mack and she died in Phila in 1885. I am still looking for their brother Thomas.

I found a Ship's Manifest for a Ship called "Thos H Perkins" that showed members of my family arriving in the port of Philadelphia from Liverpool on the "Thos H Perkins"  on Dec 9, 1850.

John, my gg grandfather was on the Manifest and was listed as dead. So from that record I believe that he died aboard ship before they arrived here. I would like to see if I can get a death certificate for my gg grandfather.

John. DEAD (listed as deceased)

Does anyone know where passenger deaths aboard ship in 1850 were recorded ?

Any help you can give me that will help me learn anything new about my gg grandfather would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again for any help you can give me.

Marge
