Seeking information on a William Colhoun, father to James Colhoun (Calhoun) b 1747 by first wife, and Andrew Colhoun b 1763/1764 by second wife. James is my 5th GGF and immigrant ancestor in Pennsylvania. Probably emmigrated around 1760. Mother's name reported to be Sarah Stewart. I am trying to establish the parentage of James, sometimes referred to as James of Letterkenny, and establish a link to his half-brother Andrew. There is an Andrew Colhoun 1764-1842 well-documented in America, born to William Colhoun and Janet Hamilton, lived in Ray Parish, attended church in Manorcunningham, emmigrated to American 1790, settled first in Boston, married Martha Chamberlain 1795. There is another Andrew Calhoun, b 1763, parentage unknown, reported born in Kilrea, County Derry, emmigrated to America 1785, settled in Big Beaver Township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, married Mary Kennedy.
